Greenwood Rising Museum
Team Harmony embraces the belief that history is a great teacher. To that end, we want to offer student teams the opportunity to learn first-hand about what can happen when hate goes unchecked. The 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre serves as a prime example of such and provides inspiration for all to promote racial harmony and understanding amongst all people.
Over a two-day period, State Delegations will be scheduled into personally guided tours of Greenwood Rising, a state-of-the-art history center located at the heart of Tulsa's Greenwood District honoring the legacy of Black Wall Street before and after the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921.
Greenwood Rising is dedicated to educating the public about the Tulsa Race Massacre that happened 100 years ago in the Greenwood District. The new museum utilizes history, technology, and interactive design to open a dialogue of challenging conversations about the tragedy while also discussing Black history and the heritage of historically Black North Tulsa and the Greenwood District specifically.

The Greenwood Cultural Center
As the culmination to this action-oriented experience, Team Harmony will present the We Have A Dream Rally. This evening event will take place at the Greenwood Cultural Center.
This two-hour celebratory rally of unity, respect and diversity will be a combination of high-profile speakers, special recognition awards, celebrity appearances and performances and interaction with the students.
The Greenwood Cultural Center is the keeper of the flame for the Black Wall Street era, the events known as the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, and the outstanding resurgence of the Greenwood District in the months and years that followed the tragedy.
The Cultural Center’s mission is to preserve African-American heritage and promote positive images of the African-American community by providing educational and cultural experiences, promoting intercultural exchange and encouraging cultural tourism.

AME Vernon Church
Student teams will march from the the Team Harmony Action Institute to the AME Vernon Church where they will hear speaches from community leaders.
Historic Vernon African Methodist Episcopal Church was founded in 1905 and the basement of the current edifice was built in 1919. During the worst race massacre in American history, the Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921, the superstructure, parsonage, and sanctuary still under-construction were destroyed but the basement remained as a symbol of God's persevering power. The congregation completed the current sanctuary in 1925. In fact, Vernon AME Church is the only intact, standing black-owned structure that remains from the Historic Black Wall Street era. Vernon AME remains an integral part of the community today. Nicknamed "The Grandmother of Greenwood", Vernon is a symbol of strength, a place of refuge, an advocate for social justice, a meeting place for community discussions, and a ministry to those in need.
